Patty Cake: Collaboration with Dylan Jones

Patty Cake was an adventure. It was also a nod to the Moo Moo Cow Room Phiton and I had created the previous Spring.Originally I had wanted to create an installation. An 8ft tall by 3 ft squared room completely filled with tiny cows. Sort of like an ant infestation but with cows. But then Phiton got really into the concept of the cute and creepy and suggested that I cast two bronze cows with giant heads. I agreed and did so accordingly however, after creating the cow couple it became apparent that the project concept needed to evolve and so after much brainstorming a good friend suggested building a wedding cake out of cow patties. Exactly what I was looking for!

And so it was midnight and I called my good buddy Dylan Jones. We wandered around Wilder Ranch and Meder Street Preserve collecting cow patties of all sizes. We burned the night down constructing a giant wedding cake out of cow patties. I really don’t think there is any other way I could test the strength of friendship. You know someone is a really true friend if they will stick their hands in wet cow poop for you at 4 in the morning, that is truly understanding. Thanks Dylan.
